Thousands of children attending holiday activity camps across Worcestershire are enjoying a healthy boost this summer thanks to a generous fruit donation from Primafruit in Evesham.
The donation, organised by Primafruit, is being distributed by PAL Fitness & Education across four Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) camp sites throughout Worcestershire. With approximately 5,000 places filled over the summer holidays for children aged 5–11, the fresh fruit will play an important role in providing nutritious lunches and encouraging healthy eating habits.
The HAF programme offers a wide range of engaging activities for children, including sports, arts and crafts, swimming, bell boating, fishing, dedicated SEND programmes and youth activities, ensuring every child has access to fun, enriching experiences throughout the school holidays.
Every child attending the camps receives a healthy lunch as part of the Worcestershire HAF programme, and the donation from Primafruit will help provide fresh, nutritious fruit to accompany those meals.
Sue Bentley from PAL Fitness & Education said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Primafruit for this wonderful donation. Fresh fruit is such an important part of a healthy diet, and thanks to their generosity, thousands of children attending our holiday camps will enjoy nutritious food alongside the fantastic activities on offer. It’s partnerships like this that make a real difference to families across Worcestershire, and we’re so thankful for Primafruit’s continued support.”
The donation follows another generous contribution from Primafruit earlier this summer, when members of the team took part in the Evesham 10K, raising £1,000 for PAL Fitness & Education’s adapted cycling programme. The latest initiative was organised by Emma Pople, continuing the company’s commitment to supporting local children and community projects.
The partnership between Primafruit and PAL Fitness & Education demonstrates how local businesses can have a lasting impact by supporting programmes that improve children’s health, wellbeing and access to enriching activities during the school holidays.
PAL Fitness & Education would like to extend its sincere thanks to Emma Pople and everyone at Primafruit for their ongoing generosity and commitment to helping children across Worcestershire enjoy a healthy, active and memorable summer.
