The Spark to Move Programme

Spark to Move is our new programme designed to inspire children and young people through dance, creative movement, and multi-sports. It brings together schools, community sessions, and inclusive opportunities for those with SEN/disabilities. This document breaks down the key strands of the programme in detail.

All Spark to Move sessions are Led by Specialists. Sessions delivered by highly qualified & experienced Activity Leaders:

  • BA (Hons) in Dance
  • Level 3 Sports Coach (multi-sports, not limited to football)
  • All activity leaders hold enhanced DBS checks, safeguarding training, and Level 3 Paediatric First Aid.
  • Inclusive Approach, Adaptive teaching styles tailored to the needs of all students.
  • Representation: Positive role models, promoting women in sport.
  • Trained in neurodiversity awareness and inclusive play.

Learning extends far beyond the walls of the classroom.

At PAL Fitness Education, we provide exciting opportunities for children to engage in confidence-building activities in the vibrant community of Evesham. Our outdoor learning experiences take place in inspiring settings like the Evesham Velo Park and Evesham United Football Club, where children can develop essential life skills through physical activity and teamwork.

We believe that by fostering a sense of adventure and encouraging exploration, we can empower children to discover their strengths and reach their full potential. And this is proven in the feedback from the school leaders, parents/carers and children themselves.

Activities include:

Primary School Sessions (SEN interventions)

5-11 years

Curriculum Led School Sessions & Clubs

Community Sessions: Active Movers

Case Study: Abbey Park Schools Federation

We have been providing Abbey Park Schools Federation in Pershore with our stress free alternative learning provisions, supported with external funding. We know all children learn differently, and sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders, and the proof is in the video. See what Abbey Park Head teacher and school business manager have to say about our ELO programmes.

Working with

FAQs

Working in partnership with a variety of Schools, our ELO (Enhanced Learning Opportunity) programme, uses our adapted bikes based at the Velo Park Cycling track, to engage children in purposeful activity, where they can develop and achieve their own individualised outcomes, which are Co-created with the senior leadership teams at the schools.  In small learning groups of 8-10 children per group, we run the educational programme over a 6-week block of
sessions, each session lasting between 2.5-3 hours.

We understand the importance of Co-creation, Co-delivery & Co-assessment so have ensured the project is set up to help Schools tailor the activities to the individual children they send, working towards EHCP outcomes or personal targets to enhance their cognitive, social and academic development, in a practical and suitable environment, outside of the school premises.

We meet with the Headteacher (This could also be a tutor or LSA) before each term and we co-create the programme, based on the needs of everyone in the group. Learners have individual outcomes and targets which PAL tailor the programme around, developing certain skills on the programme, such as active listening, leadership, turn taking, independence, resilience and following instructions.

We can also tailor the sessions to each age group or ability level, so if a group are in a secondary school, or at an FE college, focusing more on employability skills, it can be more around how to ensure you learn employability skills, around topics such as how to teach children to learn to ride and road safety, as opposed to us telling them.

If children need specific adaptations to programmes or extra support, we ensure this is in place so that going off site will not negatively impact any child. We have community cycling sessions weekly on Saturdays & Wednesdays, while also delivering a large-scale Holiday Activity provision in the half terms & holiday periods, which children can also join, giving a longer term exit route to physical activity and community engagement.

Working with your school we co-create each programme to tailor the activities & desired outcomes to each individual. We then create a diary format report, which details progressions and measures the impact against their desired outcomes, which are specific for the group and most importantly each individual. Measuring progress is again done collaboratively, as the Schools have previously have seen significant behaviour changes within their environment outside of our sessions.

At the end of the project, we create a summary report, again detailing impact on the group and individual students. This is a fantastic resource to demonstrate a pro-active approach, when reporting to local authorities, governors & Ofsted.
